Things to Remember: Rocky Point Laws

Hi everyone,
We wanted to let people know of changes that have happened since last year. These are Laws that effect you as tourists that get over looked by many. The first thing I want to remind everyone is NEVER PAY A TICKET TO A POLICE OFFICER please. This only makes it worse for the rest of the tourist and even yourself. What happens when you pay-off an officer, they remember your car and keep stoping you, they learn that americans are afraid and ask for more money. The fines if you take the 10 minutes out of your day if your pulled over is 10 to 25 dollars. And most of the time it is even dismissed by the judge.

Here are some laws to remember
You must stop at stop signs (they say "ALTO")
Speed limit thru and around town is about 35mph
You must wear helmets when riding quads, golf carts etc.
Fireworks are promitted in areas up till 7pm, they fine you for noise orderance after 7pm, but we do not allow them in our park for saftey reasons.
Seatbelts are required at all times by everyone in the car.
You can not have open bottles of alcohol in your car.
You must be 18 or older to drink
Only guns under a 22 can be brought into mexico above a 22 to a 45 is criminal 45 and up is federal.
Drugs are the second largest punishment in mexico "federal prision time" so no drugs (guns are #1)
Fighting in bars etc.. you will go to jail
Yelling or high tempers with an officer will get you jail time.
Reckless driving is also not permitted

Some myths
You will not go to some horrible mexican prison for the things listed above except guns, drugs, or fights. Again NEVER PAY AN OFFICER please go to see the judge it is fast and keeps our officers honest and will make your future visits better.
