Myths and Rumors

Hi everyone,
We thought we would help put an answer to all those questions that come up. We generally get the same ones here in the office so I thought we would start with them.
Are you still open?
Yes, this is why you where still able to contact us. You can also look at the date of this post and comments as time goes on.

I here the park is closing next year? 2009?
This is another rumor as people see the condos get closer. We are part of a group called Groupo SBR which is the land owner of everything from the railroad tracks to the Cholla Bay. The idea for those who come here and know the layout of the land is just behind our storage area will be the beginning of a marina. This will extend to the Northeast all the way to Cholla Bay. At some point yes this will be a Park that is moved to a new location within the Groupo SBR property.

Why can I only make reservations 1 year at a time?
We do this because as time passes there maybe changes in price, spaces, policy etc. and we can inform our customers of these changes. Something to know though is the policy says one thing in 2008 and another is 2009 you will only be following the policy for the date you made the reservation on, not the arrival date.

How come when I make reservations there is no beach front available but when I arrive there are many beachfront spaces open?
When the reservation was made we did not have spaces available for the dates you requested but as time went on people canceled their reservations, opening up those spaces.

How come when I arrive there are beachfront spaces open but I can’t stay in them?
This will be for 2 reasons
1. The space is already paid for and we are waiting for the person to arrive.
2. Or there are areas in which we only rent the spaces on a monthly and yearly base.

How did my friend reserve beachfront a week after I requested beachfront and I did not get beachfront when I requested it?
This could be for only 2 reasons.
1. Your request was not for 4 nights (4 night Minimum for beachfront)
2. A customer with a beachfront space canceled his/her reservation after you made yours leaving it open for the next request.

How come when I arrived and when checking out after the weekend the same beachfront space I could have been in stayed empty?
The space was paid for in advance as our policy states and the person who paid for the space never showed up. We are unable to re-rent the space because of our policy with the customer and their receipt. We Guarantee your space from the arrival date to departure date. You never know if the person had trouble with their rig and traveling 2,000 miles only to get here 3 days late to find out we gave their space away. How would you feel?

If you have any other questions please post the in the comments area and we will answer them.
Happy RVing everyone

We camped on the beach this past week (10/09 - 10/14). We heard a rumor that the beach portion of the Reef was sold by Gus Brown to help pay for the completion of Esmeralda. We were told this is why the beach (adjacent to the Reef RV Park) is no longer maintained. We did notice the area is not graded any longer and the trash was piled up and around the dumpsters. After 5 days camping on the beach, you would think the dumpsters would have been emptied.

Also, why is La Cholla Rd. (that used to lead to The Reef) closed now?

Thanks for any information!

Thanks for your feed back.
Let’s start with the first question and work our way down.
1. The beach next to "The Reef RV Park" is not connected with us other then the corporate office. The beach is know as Playa EnsueƱo
2. There are 5 Gus Brown's in Rocky Point so it depends on who you are thinking of.
3. There have been no lots other then the Marriott/ Penasco Bay property sold none of which to pay for the completion of Esmeralda.
4. Maintained?
5. In regards with the trash, Trash pick up for their company I believe is Mon's and Fridays only.
6. The road has been closed for the new golf course scheduled for early 2009. The golf course is part of the Marriott/ Penasco Bay development
