Violence in Mexico?

Hi everyone,
Many people have ben asking what is it like in Rocky Point and is it safe to travel. The answer is simple YES. I would like to really tell you the facts about what is happing here in Mexico and in Rocky Point. I will start out by letting you know that yes there are problem areas in Mexico just as there are problem areas in the US and other countries. The areas that have been effected are Nogales, some border towns of Texas (not all), Tiajuana and some surround areas of of that city. There are some others but they are so far south from here that I will not go into in this blog. There has been no acts of violence while traviling from the U.S.A to Rocky Point at the Lukeville or San Luis borders. In fact I have many people when they arrive here tell me "Gus all the way here we thought about what the news was saying and other people but, now that we are here it is nothing like that at all... they are really hurting the town of Rocky Ponit for no reason." and others have said "its just another way that the american government is keeping americans in state to help the economy if we spend all our money here in Rocky Point how does the US prosper, it doesn't" For what ever reason I am leaving it up to you our clients to respond here to let others know your feelings good or bad we want to here from you.
One last note here is a "News 13" who arrived to our park during spring Break 2009 to get the responces of the RVers.

Now Accepting 2010 Reservations

Hi Everyone Sorry we got off to a late start but here is some great news.
We are now taking reservation requests for Jan. Feb. March and April 2010. Here is a list of Non-Refundable Holidays / Spring Break dates.
Jan. 2010 (1st thru the 3rd) – New Years Weekend
March 2010 (13th thru the 21st) & (29th thru the 31st) - Spring Break AZ & Easter Break
April 2010 (1st thru the 4th) - Easter Break

Many of you may have heard rumors that we are closing. This is not true. We will be taking reservations for the Fall Season of 2010 starting Monday November 23rd 2009. Please do not send in requests before hand as thay can get misplaced or lost. We will be taking those requests that come in on the 23rd in the order as we recieve them. Emails will be sent out to all of our clients this weekend if you do not recieve an email besure to contact us so that we can update you email addy.

The Reef RV Park Help a Family Drive

I want to make this Holiday Season special for everyone in Rocky Point. I have put together a list of 100 families living near the railroad tracks and the out skirts of town. That is in need of food, clothing, and blankets this winter. This will be the Reef RV Parks 1st annual “Help a family drive” For those of you visiting the Rocky Point area in November and December please stop by the Reef RV Park office to donate you non-perishable’s, new or used clothing for adults or children, and any new or used blankets. We know times are tough for everyone so we want to make it mean something for you as well. When you donate something your name will be placed in a hat for a raffle which will take place in January for:
1 person will win a free four night stay at the reef (see the office for details).
2 persons will receive a discounted rate on your next reservation (see office for details).

The drive will end on December 19th, 2008 to give me time to get everything on a truck and delivered to the families for the Holidays.

Rocky Points New Airport

Many of you have asked about the new Airport that has been under construction near the Mayan Palace. The aircract you see landed some of the governers during their convention. Here are some photos of the near complete airport. Soon no longer will the family need to jump in their cars for the 4 hour trip. It will just be a quick zoooom to the beach! They say it will be in operation the first quarter of 2009 this means hopefully by the end of May coming into June you can take your new fight, keep you rig in our storage and just head down. Car rentals are starting to spring up in Rocky Point so no need to worry.

2010 Reservations

Our Vision for 2010
Hi everyone, yes it seems like such a long time away but in fact people are asking about 2010 spaces. To shed some light on the subject I wanted to let you all know we are not accepting requests until Jan. 1st, 2009 for the 2010 (winter/spring season). On Jan. 1st 2009 we will be accepting, and processing requests for the Jan 1st thru July 31st 2010 dates. Later in the year of 2009 (July 1st 2009) we will start accepting, and processing August-Dec. 2010 (summer/fall season) requests. Any requests that arrive earlier then Jan 1st 2009 or the July 2009 dates will be deleted.

Crossing the Border - Passports

U.S. Citizens

- Air Travel
All U.S. citizens including children must present a passport or secure travel document when entering the United States by air.

- Land/Sea Travel
Beginning January 31, 2008, the United States will end the practice of accepting oral declarations of citizenship at the border.
U.S. citizens ages 19 and older must present documentation that proves both identity and citizenship. Identification documents must include a photo, name and date of birth. View the complete list of acceptable documents at CBP.gov for land travel and sea travel.
Children ages 18 and under will only be required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.

U.S. citizens can also apply for a U.S. Passport Card, which facilitates entry and expedites document processing at U.S. land and sea ports-of-entry when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. The card may not be used to travel by air. Otherwise, it carries the rights and privileges of the U.S. passport book and is adjudicated to the exact same standards.
